Routine Care

Routine care in dentistry involves regular check-ups, cleanings, and preventative measures to maintain optimal oral health and prevent future dental problems.

Root Canal Treatment(RCT)

A dental treatment to deal with toothache. It involves cleaning of the most inner part of the tooth structure, named as pulp, where nerve and other soft tissue are located. During root canal treatment, dentist removes the diseased pulp.

When the pulp becomes inflamed or infected caused by

  • Deep tooth decay
  • Traumatic damage such as a crack, chip or tooth fracture
  • Severe gum disease

If the infected pulp is not removed, pain and swelling can result, and your tooth may have to be removed. It saves your natural tooth and your smile. Otherwise, removal of the tooth/ extraction can solve toothache.

It usually takes 2-5 visits depend on which tooth is involved. Front tooth is easier than back tooth as it is less complicated.

Most of the time, there is either no or little discomfort if the pulp is already badly inflamed. However, it is usually done under local anesthetic. The treatment actually relieves pain by removing the diseased pulp.

Success rate is up to 90% in general. Failure is due to complicated root structure, root fracture, cracked tooth etc.

Yes. Because the tooth usually becomes brittle and more prone to crack after the treatment.

  • Swollen and painful gums around it
  • Bad breath

Gum Care – Gingivitis and Periodontitis

  • Swollen and reddish gum
  • Bleeding gum/ bleeds during brushing
  • Bad breath
  • Discomfort
  • Mobile tooth
  • Inadequate oral hygiene where plaque is not removed. (Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that form after you brushes your teeth.)
  • Smoking cigarettes
  • Poor nutrition
  • Pregnancy
  • Systemic illness
  • Clenching or grinding of teeth
  • Psychological factors : Stress, anxiety etc
  • Maintain a good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing daily can remove plaque- the main culprit of gum disease.
